OSCam_ymod is the emu version of OSCam

Go to Addons. In there you will see download catagories which contain cam and cam-config
First go to cam and install cccam 2.1.3 or the latest version available
Then from cam-config install cccam-config 2.1.3 or the latest version availableFrom blue panel go to top of panel and use left/right buttons to scroll to CCcam 2.1.3 (or the version you have installed above)
Now press the Green button to start CCcam
Adding the c-lines to your CCcam.cfg:Use an FTP program and editor to connect to your Dreambox and navigate to the /var/etc directory. A suitable editor is smartftp (www.smartftp.com)
In here you will find a file called CCcam.cfg. You must now edit this file using notepad. Remove everything from this file (yes everything).
In CCcam.cfg you must add the C: line that you were given
Save the changes to CCcam.cfg and enjoy!

More Drivers Going Without Insurance

Ed Gilmartin knew something askew 50 customers when their car insurance fell in November and December.

"It was more appeals from 1 January to Thanksgiving than in any other years, we have experience," said Mr. Gilmartin, who is the owner of Gilmartin Insurance Agency in Scranton.

More car insurance consumers abandoning illegally during the economic crisis, increasing the risk to themselves and other drivers.

"As economic conditions deteriorated dramatically, you are probably driving more people uninsured," said David Corum, a Vice President at the Insurance Research Council, the industry-funded group based in Malvern. "People who are insured will pay more because the costs of uninsured drivers are distributed among those of us who have coverage."

The Council will issue a report this week correlating increase in unemployment in the revitalization of uninsured drivers. Based on estimated national unemployment rate of 7.5 percent in 2010, the percentage of uninsured drivers would increase to 16 percent from 14.5 percent in 2005, the report projects.

This may mean 3 million more uninsured drivers on our roads in 2010 than in 2005, based on U.S. Department of Transportation data.

State model also points to more drivers "born" in the industry term for driving uninsured.

Suspension of registration for the car insurance lapsed totaled 97,000 between July and December, running 21 percent ahead of the same pattern in 2007, State Department of Transportation figures show. A penalty for carrying out the uninsured includes $ 300 fine and three-month suspension for a driving license and vehicle registration.

"Unemployment causes tremendous pressure on the insurance market," said Sam Marshall, chairman of the Insurance Federation of Pennsylvania, the trade association based in Philadelphia. Usually from 5 to 8 percent of registered state uninsured drivers, it estimates.

Agents also see more customers’ change of policy, such as the eradication of conflicts and comprehensive scope, in order to reduce costs.

"People are calling us; they have difficulty with their bills. They are looking at their payments down," said Bob Turano, who owns insurance agencies in Honesdale.

I have a couple of blogs and experimenting with google adsense. I'm in for only a couple of months, so i actually thought the main thing i need is great traffic.

Things changed when one of my posts (not from this blog) went to reddit top 5. it then appeared at fark and delicious tops also. i had something like 60000 visitors in two days, and earned... well, a dollar or so.

that's the moment i started thiniking about optimizing my pages for adsense.

I already had ads with no borders, and colors were matching my template. i searched web for some answers, and did a couple of things. after that, my CTR increased about 20 times. unfortunately, at that moment traffic was quite low, but i still have some everyday income that is about 20 times higher. here are the simple steps:

1. Instead of 468x15 Link Unit i put 300x250 Rectangle at the top of my page under it's header.
2. I made links blue. Yes, people simply expect free links to be blue.
3. I made ads urls color match text color.

Patients with Hodgkin’s lymphoma who have been treated with radiation may be at an increased risk for malignant mesothelioma.

Although malignant mesothelioma is relatively uncommon, previous research indicated it may be associated with radiation exposure.

Results of several recent epidemiological studies showed that radiation for lymphoma may be linked with an increased risk for malignant mesothelioma. However, these studies involved only a small number of patients and the results needed to be confirmed in larger studies.

For this study, the researchers examined risk for malignant mesothelioma in 2,567 patients who had reached at least five-year survival after treatment for Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

Patients included in the study had been treated with radiation alone, chemotherapy alone or a combination of both.

Median follow-up period was 18.1 years. At this time, 13 patients had malignant mesothelioma at least five years after being treated for Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

Five-year survivors of Hodgkin’s lymphoma were about 26 times more likely than the general population to develop malignant mesothelioma, according to the results. Those treated with radiation alone were about 30 times more likely to develop malignant mesothelioma.

There were no cases of the disease among the 232 patients treated with chemotherapy alone, but patients treated with both radiation and chemotherapy were almost 44 times more likely to develop malignant mesothelioma.

As researchers search for better treatments and even a cure for these diseases, they are also focusing on new diagnostic methods that might identify the cancers earlier. Early diagnosis is particularly crucial with mesothelioma, because many patients survive only one year after they first start to show signs, and symptoms are often difficult to distinguish from those of other lung diseases.

One potential screening method uses low-dose computed tomography (LDCT) to evaluate the lungs and their lining (pleura). LDCT can locate plaques in the lungs, which are a sign of asbestos exposure and have been linked to an increased cancer risk.

Currently, there are no recommendations about using LDCT or any other method to screen people who have been exposed to asbestos, and screening isn’t routinely done. “There are currently no methods for the early detection of mesothelioma available,” says lead author Heidi Roberts, MD, Associate Professor of Radiology at the University of Toronto. “This is why we are doing the research.”

To determine the effectiveness of LDCT as a screening tool for asbestos-related lung cancers, Dr. Roberts and her colleagues recruited 516 people (most of them men) who had been exposed to asbestos at least 20 years before, or who had known plaques. Participants were given LDCT scans of the chest. Patients who had abnormal scans were given follow-up tests. Those with normal test results were invited to have an annual LDCT scan.

Of the 516 participants, 357 had evidence of plaques. Based on the results of the first scan and annual scans, six of the patients were diagnosed with lung cancers and four were diagnosed with mesothelioma.

Although LDCT was able to detect advanced mesothelioma, as well as early- and late-stage lung cancers, it was not able to diagnose early mesothelioma. The study authors say they need to continue screening patients to help them get a better idea of what early mesothelioma looks like. Also, they say adding biomarkers (substances in the blood that indicate the presence of cancer) to the screening process may provide greater sensitivity to help diagnose those at very high risk for mesothelioma.

Even as techniques are fine-tuned, screening is just one step of a three-tiered effort to combat these cancers, according to Dr. Roberts. “The second step is the parallel development of biomarkers, and the third step is the parallel development of treatment strategies,” she says. “These have to be developed hand-in-hand in order to make this a useful and meaningful tool.”

State Completes Probe of Auto Insurers

Independent auto body shop owners have long argued that the auto insurers are illegal "steering" consumers to the stores in the network, but the state insurance investigators claimed that they've found only isolated cases, rather than systemic violations of the law state industry.

A 19-month investigation by the Department of Insurance to find "some representatives of the insurance companies involved in practices that could be considered a breach of the insurance law or regulations," officials said in a press release. Such practices involved "improper or inaccurate information provided to consumers, they said.

The state does not find widespread problems or policy at any insurer that has broken the law.

"We have not found the formula misconduct or violations of standard," said Steven Nachman, deputy superintendent for insurance fraud and consumer services. "We see visible single violation."

Officials are now reaching out to these companies to their awareness of potential violations and to give them an opportunity to respond, defense and correct such violations. Will include the repair of a fine or other penalty has not yet been determined, and depends on the nature of the infringement and the companies response officials said. State did not say how many violations found, nor identify him insurers.

Trade group of independent auto body workshops repeatedly argued that the auto insurers were using the "heavy-handed tactics" to drive customers to conflict-specific workshops, refusing their business. Local shops in Western New York even launched an advertising campaign to educate consumers about their rights and persuade them to benefit from independent shops.

"It was clear that consumers are confused. They're in stressful situations and do not know what their rights," said Ed Kizenberger, executive director of the group.

The group said in its press release that "a large number and frequency of complaints and calls were received from consumers and retailers" led it to call for investigation.

"We are grateful to the insurance department took the matter seriously enough to look at New York on behalf of insurance consumers," said Chairman, Mike Orso.

State law clearly gives consumers the right to choose where they want to have vehicles repaired after the collision. It also bars auto insurers targeting business anywhere.

As health insurers with a network of doctors, auto insurers can create a network "participating" or "direct repair" shops that agree to charge less to insurers in exchange for business.

Insurers can talk about their networks and tout the benefits, but they are prohibited recommending, directing or requiring customers to choose the auto shop, or for repair or inspection.

In accordance with state law, if the Attorney General's Office challenges the rate of application, the Commissioner of Insurance can not approve Occidental's feet without a public hearing. At the hearing, Attorney General's Office is entitled to cross examine the testimony of witnesses and to ensure by independent experts on the proposed rate.

Occidental submitted its initial rate filing for 13 February 2009. The company proposes to charge the base rate which is higher than 10% of the basic rate charged by Massachusetts' residual market last year. Residual market pool of drivers is that insurance companies consider to be "high risk" and usually do not have to offer policies. A "high risk "driver is someone who is insured, usually with poor driving record, which has to pay the losses that are above average. While the residual market interest rates are generally much higher than average rates because they are based on high-risk pool drivers, Occidental does not provide support or justification in its submission to charge similar rates to all its consumers, not just those who are high risk.

The Attorney General's Office is also a challenge to various provisions of Occidental's application to be unfair or in any other manner inconsistent with the law in Massachusetts. Here are some examples:

* The company proposes to add 35% surcharge on each policy that can not verify your driving record. This includes any official from a foreign country that can not be obtained in English. Under this policy, each of the recent immigrants do not speak English, the country can not be charged to evaluate the inexperienced driver, but in addition, 35% surcharge, which the Attorney General challenges unjustified.
* Occidental high fees and unnecessary charges, including $ 25 policy fee "to" cover the costs necessary to attract the customer and write, "and $ 8 an installment fee in violation of Massachusetts law if the fees are not justified.
* Occidental requires consumers to pay a deductible in addition to comprehensive general deduction of glass on glass claims in violation of Massachusetts law.
* Occidental may prevent consumers from its policy after the restoration of their receipt of the notice of appeal for nonpayment, which is contrary to the law of Massachusetts.

16% Of Drivers Will Be Uninsured in 2009, Predicts Insurance Research Council

n Newsday, Tom Incantalupo reported that the Insurance Research Council, and industry group, is predicting an increase in uninsured drivers for 2010. Their projection is that 16.1% of all drivers in the United States will be driving around without auto insurance, an increase from 13.8% in 2007.

The IRC blames this state of events on the economy, because consumers are trying to cut back on expenses. With the unemployment rate rising at a similar clip, it’s somewhat understandable that keeping up with your auto insurance premiums may fall to the wayside. Still, it’s a bad idea to let your policy lapse. For one, when you eventually buy insurance again, your premiums could see a sharp increase. Not only do uninsured drivers risk fines and other legal punishment in most states; they also cause the rates of insured drivers to go up when they’re involved in a crash, Tom says.

3 Japanese Insurers Begin Merger Talks

The three leading insurers in Japan said that on Friday began merger talks, possibly paving the way for a new leader to appear in one of the world's largest nonlife insurance markets.

Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Group Holdings, Aioi Insurance and Nissay Dowa General Insurance announced that they will lead discussions with the objective of Aioi and Nissay Dowa under the aegis of Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Group in April 2010.

The combination would create a company with revenue of about yen2.7 trillion, or 30.5 billion dollars, which pre-empt Tokyo Marine Holdings on the basis of income, to become the largest Japanese companies in the sector.

Analysts in Tokyo generally perceived the transition to a combination of the three companies in a positive light, citing the cost savings in the systems and the likelihood of reduced property insurance costs from streamlining outlets. Following the merger of three companies expected to check the computer system savings yen20 billion yen30 billion he said Yuichi Murakami, director of corporate communications at Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance.

It will also take the combined company's fifth place in the world based on the yen on the basis of income, after Allianz of Germany, the State Farm and AIG in the United States and AXA of France.

Japan was the fourth largest nonlife insurance market in the world based on revenue, with the United States, Germany and the United Kingdom, from the end of 2006, according to the General Insurance Association of Japan.

Fact: Not really. Every website has its own characteristics; you cannot just follow what people said and then hope that your CTR will drastically increase. Try to do your own experiments with various ads and placements. Perhaps ads unit that are not effective in another website are your most profitable ads.

Myth: It’s profitable to develop website that’s targeting high paying keywords.

Fact: Perhaps, if you really are a Search Engine Optimization expert. It is correct that when these high paying keywords are clicked, you will get a huge amount of money. But do you realize how many people out there who also think the same thing? I’m sure there are hundreds of thousands; and you will face bloody competition to reach the top position in SERPS (Search Engine Result Pages). Without top position in SERPS, there will be no visitor; without visitor, there will be no one who clicks on your ads..

Myth: High Traffic + High CTR = High Income.

Fact: It is a perfect equation if only there is no smart pricing. High income depends of several factors, such as smart pricing and what type of website you run. Some types of websites (such as forum) have high traffic but they do not generate many incomes from Google Adsense. Smart pricing also affects it. I have seen many websites with high traffic, high CTR, but totally low income.

Myth: Be careful if your traffic suddenly increases (perhaps because a popular website features one of your articles), Google might think you are doing spamming.

Fact: Nonsense. Google is able to detect your visitors from their IP addresses (if you are not net savvy, just imagine IP address as your phone number; every time you make a phone call, it will be recorded on your phone company). Myth: High Page Rank = high traffic.

Fact: Big mistake. Page Rank only shows the popularity level of a website and has no connection with traffic. In fact, many websites with low Page Rank even have high traffic.

Myth: Once your website is listed in a "link farm", Google will penalize it.

Fact: Nonsense. Everyone is able to submit your website to a "link farm"; so what if it’s one of your competitors who did it to ruin your reputation? Google will not be that stupid.

Myth: Once your website is penalized and removed from Google Search Engine Result Pages (SERPs), there will be no chance to resubmit it again.

Fact: Big Mistake. If you suspect you get penalized, you better confirm it to Google and ask what the problem is. You are welcome to resubmit it as long as the problem has been fixed. Two problems that usually caused it are: you use black hat techniques to promote your website (cloaking, creating hidden link, creating doorway pages, etc) or you are being caught by big daddy algorithm (you create an exact copy of another website/ duplicate content).

Myth: Google Sitemaps will increase your Page Rank.

Fact: Big Mistake. Google Sitemaps is just used as an additional tool to index your webpages; so don’t expect more.

Myth: Google will ban your website if you use free articles in it, because it contains duplicate contents.

Fact: It depends on the number of free articles you used. There are many people say that free article is the same as duplicate content, and Google will definitely ban it. But imagine; if they really do it, how many news websites (which usually take their news from CNN and Reuters) that are being banned by Google? Using free articles as your contents is fine as long as you do not cross the border. I suggest free articles are not more than 30%-40% of your total contents.

Myth: Reciprocal Link is dead, and now it’s time for one way link.

Fact: This fact is still in debate since Google never gave a confirmation about it. But there is something in their help center that perhaps can answer this question:

"Keep in mind that our algorithms can distinguish natural links from unnatural links. Natural links to your site develop as part of the dynamic nature of the web when other sites find your content valuable and think it would be helpful for their visitors. Unnatural links to your site are placed there specifically to make your site look more popular to search engines." (taken from Google Adsense Help Center )

This maybe the reason why many people think reciprocal link is dead. But what about one way link? We all know that the most common way to get one way link is by submitting comments in popular blogs. Isn’t it the same as unnatural links? One thing for sure here; no matter reciprocal link or one way link, they both can be treated as unnatural links by Google. And if that happens, your incoming links will not affect your Page Rank and your position in Google SERPs. There is no doubt that one way link is the best choice. And the only way to get a natural one way link is by creating a fresh and interesting content so other websites will be interested to link to it.

Myth: Participating in Google Adsense and Google Adwords will definitely raise your Page Rank and your position in Google SERPs.

Fact: Don’t you ever think about it. If you hope that Google will automatically raise your Page Rank and your position in their SERPs since you are joining Adsense and Adwords, then you make a big mistake. Google has confirmed it in their help center:

"Google’s advertising programs are independent of our search result…. Participation in an advertising program doesn’t positively or negatively affect inclusion or ranking in the Google search results. Google AdSense - http://www.google.com/adsense - is fast becoming the preferred way for people to earn an income online. Forget eBay and multiple affïliate programs. Whether you are a work-at-home mom trying to make a little extra cäsh or an Internet entrepreneur with hundreds of monetized websites, AdSense is truly the easiest way to earn money.

The self-proclaimed AdSense gurus and experts are sharing this insider knowledge, for a fee.

Editorial Note: Some of the website AdSense examples provided below by the author may have changed since the article was written.

You can learn all these secrets from them, as long as you buy their e-book, sign up for their seminar or purchase their newsletter. But I'm going to share all their AdSense tricks for frëe. Here they are:

1) Color code your ads to match your web site palette *exactly*. Don't use frames around your ads. Instead, in the AdSense code generation interface, make sure you choose the same color as your page background for the ad frame and the ad background.

When choosing the ad heading colors, match them to the *exact* color of your page headings. Use the exact same ad background shade as your page background. Use the exact same ad text font and color as the text on your pages. You can see an example of this color-matching on my Search Engine Advice Blog - notice the 4 link ad unit at the top and the skyscraper text ad unit on the left hand side under the heading Ads by Google as you scroll down the page? The link and text colors are identical to the color palette used throughout the rest of the page.

Near enough is NOT good enough. If you can't quite get the color matching right, use Google's built in color palette together with the RGB to HEX or vice versa color converter on this page - http://www.w3.org/MarkUp/Guide/Style. That handy little tool was a life saver for me.

This is probably the one single tweak that made the most difference to my commission levels.

2) Try not to use the traditional horizontal banner style or leaderboard image ads because people are blind to them.

3) Use Google's own AdSense optimization tips and visual heat map to assist you in deciding where on your page to place your AdSense ad code.

4) Research competitive keywords using a keyword research tool such as Keyword Discovery or grab a list of the most popular keywords from various sources and use them in your web site pages where relevant. Targeting popular keywords should trigger AdSense ads on your pages that utilize those keywords. The more popular the keyword or phrase, the higher AdWords advertisers are generally willing to pay-per-click for it so the higher your commission on those clicks.

5) Incorporate the AdSense code into your page so that the ads look like a regular part of your site. 7) Place arrows or images next to your ads to draw attention to them. 8) Use the full allowance of multiple AdSense ads on each of your pages - 3 regular AdSense ads, plus 1 link unit. Use careful placement of these ads so they blend into your site and don't distract from your content. Clever use of this allowance can be seen on this page about bad Internet dating stories - http://www.lovestory.com.au/bad-stories.htm - where you see:

* 1 horizontal 4 link ad unit towards the top of the page under the first paragraph.
* 1 vertical skyscraper text ad unit about halfway down the left hand side under "Sponsor Links".
* 1 vertical skyscraper image ad unit down the left hand side under "Sponsor Links".
* 1 horizontal text banner unit at the bottom of the page with images above each ad to draw attention to them.

You can also include 1 AdSense referral button in addition to the 3 other units.

9) Tailor your page content to a particular niche or focus. Page content that is tailored towards a specific theme is more likely to trigger AdWords ads that closely match the content and are therefore more likely to interest your visitors and inspire them to clíck.

Don't create pages merely for the sake of placing AdSense ads. Visitors (and search engines) can see through this ruse in an instänt.

10) Use custom Ad Channels for each of your ad placements, for example, "Top 5 Link Unit Blue Palette" or "Left Side Navigation Image Skyscraper" etc. Tweak, track and measure the success of each of these custom channels so you know what gives you the highest CTR. Some ad formats and colors will work better than others, but you won't know which until you test, test and test some more!

Adsense in RSS

With the growth of blogs and RSS feeds you’re starting to see adsense included in the feeds now. IMHO this doesn’t work, and here’s why:

* You only get to place one ad unit.
* You have no control over finding the ’sweet spot’ for the ad unit.
* The ads are usually poorly targeted (this is getting better).
* People develop ‘banner blindness’.

I know people like being able to read full postings in their feed reader, and there are at least a dozen other reasons for full posts from pleasing your users to mobile offline computing, all of which are completely valid. However if your website depends on generating adsense revenue to survive, then bring them to the site and show them the ads there.
